Whilst the Appeti Boys team headed to Glasgow Ffion stayed in Edinburgh where she competed in the second week of the Scottish Junior International Championships.

Ffion displayed some great tennis and beat two world ranked players, Caroline Garcia from France and Aisha Kerr from Great Britain, in qualifying to reach the main draw where she lost to the number 2 seed Sian Bayliss.

Ffion also performed well in the doubles with partner Matilda Hamlin from Sweden, reaching the quarter finals.

Her performance over the week meant that Ffion earned her first world ranking points putting her at 1814 in the world as a junior player in the 18U.

This is a great achievement for Ffion who has worked hard over the past year, since taking her tennis full time, to reach this point. Ffion’s coach Eb Appeti said “Our target for Ffion in her first year of full time tennis was to get a world ranking point, now she has achieved this the next 12 months promise to be an exciting time.”

Ffion flew off to compete in two International tournaments in Ireland straight after her success in Scotland - so watch this space for more updates.
