Over the past several years, both coaches and athletes have started to realize that strength, speed and other athletic skills are not sufficient for the production of championship athletes. Athletic performance has three parts:
- physical preparation
- technical skill
- psychological readiness
Our goal is to teach each player the mental skills necessary to perform consistently in training and competition and to help them realize their potential as people and tennis players.
Sports psychology is an integral part of the Academy and is a part of each players individual tennis programme. Focus on mental training such as imagery, goal setting, concentration, and confidence and performance enhancement. Psychology also encompasses lifestyle choices.
Psychology takes place on and off court and players can opt for one 2 one sessions each week to enhance their programme.
The Appeti Academy’s Sport Psychologists specialises in junior players and understands the demands faced by junior players.
