The Appeti Academy works in partnership with The Rachel Wood Language School to offer English, French and Spanish tuition specifically designed for aspiring tennis players. Rachel Wood is originally from Hampshire but is now based in Canterbury. She is a dedicated languages teacher with over 9 years experience teaching both in the UK and abroad. Rachel studied languages at Durham University and after some time abroad, studied for a CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching for Adults), Post Graduate Certificate in Education and Masters in Teaching French as a Foreign Language at Canterbury Christ Church University. Rachel has worked all over the world, including France, Mexico and Costa Rica, where she taught French, Spanish and English as a Foreign Language to primary and secondary school children and professional adults. The Rachel Wood Language School delivers a comprehensive programme of language learning at The Appeti Academy, which will enable any tennis player to enhance their game on and off the court. Language sessions can be incorporated into a player’s weekly or daily programme. Players will learn both basic and tennis-specific vocabulary, ensuring that they will be able to communicate fully with other players whilst playing a tournament in the UK or abroad. Languages are a valuable and essential part of a player’s portfolio and as all sessions take place on site, it is also a convenient and efficient addition to their programme.
